The beauty of the Cotswolds is just a short 20 minute trip in the car. The A44 to Warwick, Stratford-upon-Avon, and Birmingham is just a few hundred yards away. We're also just 10 minutes from Junction 6 (Worcester North) or from Junction 7 (Worcester South) of the M5 Motorway.
MOORING IN THE POND...
A concrete slipway is available to facilitate the launching or retrieving of boats into/from the River Avon from/onto most trailers. This eliminates the cost of heavy lifting equipment. Nevertheless, hoist facilities are also available if needed.
Drums, props and ladders are always available should customers wish to remove their boats from the water in oder to carry out maintenance or repairs. DIY servicing is permitted and there is a marine engineer on site to assit if need be.
Our pond is located just inside the main gates and overlooked by the workshops and office. Access is directly from the River Avon and there are various sized moorings to suit all types of craft from dinghies to 30+ ft cruisers and narrowboats.
Riverside moorings are directly in the River Avon. All come with full mains utilities, electricity, water and sewage. There are also toilets and shower rooms for customers to use plus BBQ areas for those warmer days.
Our boatyard team are fully trained in boat maintenance and can do anything from simply lift your boat onto drums and scrub it down, to applying a new coat of anti foul and polishing the top sides.
DOCKING AND MOORING
Docking or mooring your vessel can be the most challenging of boating operations. Maneuvering your vessel into a dock or a mooring marker in calm conditions is hard enough - add high traffic, choppy water and windy conditions to the mix and you quickly realize that proper docking and mooring is a real skill. Keep the following factors in mind for effective docking and mooring:
When you approach the dock, slow your speed, secure fenders on the docking side, and ready the docking lines.
If you are headed to a marina with limited docking stations, you may have to wait until stations open up. Be patient and courteous; approach only when you see an open station and have communicated your intention to other vessels that are departing and waiting.
WIND AND CURRENT
The direction of the wind and the flow of the water current have a huge impact on docking.
